A very nice wine, well structured and a bit richer than other Mendoza Malbec’s I’ve had. Benefited from about 30 minutes of air. Agree with the other comments that it has some Bordeaux notes, which is an OK thing. Would definitely buy again

I'm an occasional Malbec drinker. My wine spent two hours in a decanter and then I poured it into a Pinot Glass. The 2020 Achaval Ferrer is very Bordeaux like. Tannin is a factor, but there is fruit waiting to emerge. Patience will be rewarded if you are willing to wait. A real bargain at $17.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a Malbec and with Argentina making it to the World Cup final, I thought it would be fun to dig into something I don’t drink too often. I decanted this around 8am and it really didn’t fully express itself until around 6-7pm. The nose is forward, but pure with black cherries, raspberries, a lot of licorice, crushed violets, black currants, anisette, black spices, herbs, and a touch of plums. The Full bodied feel is robust and polished with medium acidity and youthful, medium+ tannins. For a wine that’s easily availabe in the $20s, this is a real winner for those that enjoy more fruit. This easily scratches an itch and has room to improve in another 3+ years.

I preferred the Finca Mirador for its better balance and depth. This one is a bit too rich and foresquare.
