PNP. Very deep dark magenta color. Cinnamon, chocolate, marshmallow, caramel, melon, black cherry, cashew, and dark raspberry. Smooth, dry palate. Firm tannins on the longish finish.
This is one of the better Napa CS that drinks really well with little to no aeration. There’s a richness that belies its straightforward, fruit forward nature. It’s absolutely confectionery, but not out of control. It makes me feel a little cheap, but only slightly. ;)
This is a good wine that I should have paid more attention to especially after being designated wine of the year by WS, but it's too late now and currently overpriced. On the palate, this wine starts with an aromatic nose with a rich crimson/ purple color. On the palate, dark cherry and berry fruit, plum and boysenberry notes. Medium to full bodied, showing nice energy, flavors, and improved with some air. A nice Cabernet in its class but not at twice its release price, in my opinion.
Decanted initially more to warm it up from its cellar chill. Massive sweet dark red fruit aroma with spice and vanilla. Mouth filling and warmth from the high abv of 15.5. Intense, concentrated but just this side of becoming flabby. Acidity is hanging in there.

Soft, round black cherry fruit. Lacked depth and richness. Somewhat disappointing given that it was Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year.

Decanted 2 hours and it opened up nicely.
Smooth with a great finish. Dark fruit forward too.
Got even better in hour 3.
Big hit WS in 2022. Wish i had bought more than 6 bottles at the time. Now price for the 2019 has jumped +20%
