  • Did not see the note about decanting for three hours in time, but will have half tonight, evacuate and half tomorrow night. Decanted, modest sediment, Rich dark purple red color with hint of pink on edges, initial nose is grapy, tight and puckery initially with hints of flavor to come.
After 45 minutes, has a finish now but still tight and less sharp/acid, could definitely do with more air.

  • Wow....really expressive and full of spice, fruit and so much character that I went back to check the label. Probably the best Carignan I've had from the USA, easily! At 14.5% alcohol this is drinking very easily with dinner, which I was initially a little worried about. Will definitely purchase again.

  • A couple hours of air in the bottle. Such pure red fruit, really nice acid, high given the grape but perfectly in line with where it should be for this wine. Just really delicious

  • A terrific rendition of Evangelho, and speaks of the place clearer than most Bedrock Evangelhos. Reminds me of the d&r Evangelho mourvedre in that way. Lovely pure red/purple fruit, a bit of dried herbaceousness, and a high toned floral perfume. Mouthwatering acidity and earthy-chalky tannins. Structure to go a decade easily, but really in a good place now.

  • On opening, dark brooding fruits hiding under a plush, silk blanket. It takes a 3 hour decant to coax the bright carignan fruit out from hiding.

Once it opens, you get the bright dark fruit with savory spices that you'd expect from a carignan. The decant also brings out a spiced perfume aromatic that makes this so satisfying to swirl during a meal.

Great wine, but you definitely have to decant it a few hours if you are drinking it today.
