Delicious and powerful Gevrey from Arlaud. Quite dark and not as translucent as usual. Complex bouquet with sour cherries, some violets, slight white pepper and a little blood. Medium to full bodied with richness in the beginning, on day 2 the tannins are more pronounced. Should peak in around 5-10 years and hold for another decade thereafter.

Cannot believe how dark this is. A slightly disturbing sight! Looks like a Cru Beaujolais (Morgon?) but doesn't smell anything like that. It's much more serious. Layers and layers of dense fruit - cranberries, raspberries, pomegranate - but also these other beautiful perfumes such as strawberry jam on toast (?!) and strawberries and cream. This is a rounded, delicious Gevrey and I'm surprised how dense it is (is this the style Burgundy is moving towards?) but it's bloody delicious.

Was craving a Burg, and after reading the last few reviews, figured I’d give it a shot.
Decanted for 2 hours.
Dark purple colour, nose of black fruits. Can’t perceive much more, this has lots of baby fat. Full mouthful, lenght ++.
I’d say if your more on the traditional Burg side, let this sleep for a few more years before popping.

Mouchonnat Annual Off-Tasting - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Beaune): Walk around tasting. Surprisingly open for young Gevrey, while also showing classic character. Fun, bright, with good density for its level.
