Notes are in the order tasted, except for those producers with both red and white, in which case I tasted the whites later in the morning after tasting all the reds.
Walk around tasting. Bright red cherry and berry with subtle spice, all nicely elegant. Good weight, very good length. Good now, better 2025 forward. Identical to when tasted the other day.

Walk around tasting. Mostly red fruits here with Asian five spice on nose and palate. Very bright textures with good enough density, this should be accessible young and drink well for decades, 91-92 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Rich red fruit with so much savory spice showing lots of concentration and raw power. Lots here to enjoy, but backward and very cellarworthy. Great potential, 2030 forward, 93-94+ point potential. Identical to when tasted the other day.

Walk around tasting. Fun and simple, good for its level. Fully destemmed, no new oak.

Walk around tasting. Likely to be bottled in August. Fully destemmed. Pretty nose of bright red fruit and delicate spice notes. Ripe red cherry and berry flavors with robust structure that will require some patience, very good length. 90-91 points, 2027 forward.

Walk around tasting. Likely to be bottled in August. Also destemmed, 1/3 new oak. An intense concentration with corresponding power that complements the wine's richness. Enticing aromas, balanced on palate despite its size. Give a few years to settle, down, 92-93 points, 2025 forward.

Walk around tasting. OK, the Volnays seem like Volnay, and this is a prototypical powerful Pommard. More black vs red fruited with lots of power, not much finesse for now. Lots of stuffing here, but I can't imagine lots of pleasure in the next 1/2 decade. 20% new oak, 20% whole cluster. 90-94 point potential, depending on the degree of harmony it achieves, 2030 forward.

Walk around tasting. Mostly darker fruits with faint spice and earth. Good+ weight and density, while also on the firm side for the vintage in the middle, then nicely softer, finessed on finish. Needs time, 89-90 points, 2029 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Also mostly black fruits here, but lithe, bright and elegant with its good weight. 14.5% alcohol is a concern here, but seems more like 13.5% on palate for now. Very good young, 90-91 points, 2026 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. A nice step up. Bigger and dense with bolder fruit and more muscular structure. Will need some cellar time, 91+ point potential, 2030 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Light dark berries come across as light and bright, but firm in the middle. OK depth, better length.
Post a Comment / 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. In tank. More black vs red fruits, slightly austere for the vintage, but that may be its current backward character that will soften in the cellar. Good density gives me lots of optimism, 87-89 point potential, 2027 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Very dense and powerful with classic "NSG character" to me. Meaty and ripe with restraint. Backward now, but never hard. Better from 2028, 89-90 point potential.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Charming nose with ripe red and black fruits, maybe some overt new oak for now. Same flavors profile with spice hints, this seems to bridge Vosne and Nuits characteristics nicely with intriguing complexity and nuance. 92-93 points, 2027 forward.

Walk around tasting. Black cherry and roasted meat throughout with anise. Forward and lush aromatically, slightly less forward on palate with moderate firmness. Very good for its level.

Walk around tasting. From 60 yo vines. A step up. Big and bold black fruits with good power and a surprisingly lingering finish. 90+ potential, 2026 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Even bigger yet, but wonderfully balanced and accessible. Very good length, ending with brightness. 92+ point potential, 2025 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Bigger and richer vs LSJ, but less balanced and certainly less accessible. Will it be as good? Unlikely, but possible, 90-92 point potential, 2030 forward.

Walk around tasting. From Charmes proper. Bright and elegant black and red cherry with some meaty and spied notes, this shows very good power and density in the middle, so it large-scaled without seeming too big. Finessed finish is very refined. 92-93 point potential, 2027 forward.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Much meatier and bigger than Charmes, with very good density. Not particularly finessed, but very "Gevrey." This will need time to harmonize, but very good 91-94 point potential, 2032-.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Surprisingly open for young Gevrey, while also showing classic character. Fun, bright, with good density for its level.

Walk around tasting. Wonderfuuly bright black and red berry meat with hints of roasted meat and woodsy spice. Good weight and length with an expanding and vibrant finish. Very good potential, 90-92+ points, from 2028. Lots here.

Walk around tasting. From Mazoyères, just below Latricières. You couldn't mistake this for anything other than a Gevrey Grand Cru. Burly black cherry, berry and plum, there is a lot here and lots of power, just clearly backward and a touch warm. Better from 2032, 92-93+ point potential.

Walk around tasting. Already bottled, this is now from domaine fruit. Very elegant and charming with good balance already. Will drink well young.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Already bottled. Cross-section of bright red fruit everywhere with good weight, better length. Slightly taut now, but it was just bottled, so I expect it will certainly open up to the richness it showed out of barrel. 91-93 point potential, from 2026.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Racked. More red than black fruits, very well spiced. Well balanced with considerable concentration, yet seamless toward its longish finish. Ever-so-slightly better today vs two days ago, 93-94 points, this should drink well young for Grand Cru, from 2028.

A new Gros I have never tasted! I think this my 12th. (Christian & Julia)
Walk around tasting. Fun and easy, balanced nicely, but on the simple side.

Walk around tasting. Simple aromatic start, more robust fruit and structure on palate. Needs a few years.

Walk around tasting. Bigger black fruit with overt tannins, with everything holding up well together. Good+ length for its level. Better 2025-

Walk around tasting. Bottled 2 weeks ago. Very big, ripe, and fleshy, this does not yet show much classic Vosne character. Probably harvested slightly later than others. OK overall.

Walk around tasting. In tank. Also very big, very ripe. Lots here. I don't know if this is a wine to cellar for a while to reach harmony or to drink young while still bright.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. In tank. 10-20% whole cluster. Also very ripe with black and red fruits, lots of power, and robust tannins. Not quite close to harmony, but lots here.

Walk around tasting. Already bottled. Ripe while simple fruit with a clear old school backbone.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. In tank. 30% whole cluster. Also with that old school, clearly firm structure that is rustic right now, and tough to project its trajectory through time. A rare Village 2020 that clearly needs time.

Walk around tasting. ~40% whole cluster. Brawny and firm, much like when tasted earlier in the week, but today the fruit seems to shine as well, showing impressive density. This will take a while to provide much/any pleasure, but I see 89-92 point potential now, 2032 forward.

Walk around tasting. This is a husband-and-wife collaboration between their two respective domaines - Michel Noëllat (Sophie) and Robert Sirugue (Arnaud). 50% whole cluster and 15% new oak. There is an obviously big, rich, sweet core of black and red cherry here, but slightly obscured by tannins and rugged structure. Patience required, but lots here, 89-91 point potential, 2028 forward. Very similar to when tasted the other day.

Walk around tasting. I am unable to decipher my written note, other than I thought it nicely pretty and easy to enjoy already now.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Ripe and nearly balanced, with almost all the rough edges from last year now gone, it is much smoother and better now. Good length, too. Better yet in another year or three.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Big, ripe and fun, but clearly showing 1er Cru density with good length as well. Maybe not quite finessed, but lots here. Also better now vs when tasted last year. 89-90 point potential, 2025 forward.

Walk around tasting. Rich and wonderfully charming with good balance despite being on the fleshy side.

Walk around tasting. A great Village level wine. A complex array of apple aromas and flavors, showing both sweet and tart characteristics. Good+ weight, very good length. Identical to when tasted yesterday.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Floral with lots of ripe apple in front, with pear, quince and lemon curd. Dancing textures add brightness to a fleshy wine, with enough acidity and more minerality adding elegance. Very good length. Good young, as soon as another year or three. Also identical to how it tasted yesterday... which is a good thing.

Walk around tasting. Floral and spiced start with a ripe and intense orchard fruit-driven nose. Dense, very ripe and powerful, while also impeccably balanced - a rare accomplishment this young. Great already now, but better 2026 forward. Even better today vs yesterday.

Walk around tasting. Pretty and easy, fun young, simple.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. More black than red fruit here, a bit brawny, nearly rustic. Long finish, so I am hopeful, 87-88 point potential, 2025 forward.

Walk around tasting. In tank. Ripe black and red berry aromas with subtle spice. Opens more fully on palate, seeming almost fleshy, but really wonderfully balanced and classic. Lots of intensity on its long finish. Just a baby now, this has 92-94 point potential, 2028 forward.

Walk around tasting. Fun, ripe, and accessible, not the most finessed wine, this will always be a bit rugged, but not in a particularly bad way. Good young.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Big and ripe mostly black fruit with meaty notes, all with enough structure to easily retain freshness and balance. So tasty already, but with the substance to last. A great vintage for this wine.

Walk around tasting. So much ripe red cherry, spice and floral elements combining for a perfumed start. Similar flavors profile, ripe and charming, slightly soft on finish. Good young.

Walk around tasting. A big step up. Classically Volnay with enticing red cherry and berry, floral and spiced. Good weight, then better length. Will drink well young, probably as soon as 2025.

Walk around tasting. Incredibly rich aromatic start is nearly perfumed and fully engaging. Black cherry and berry with some plum and blood orange. Wine is seamless from start to finish, never seeming too ripe, never too structured. A great performance. This might be approachable as early as 2025.

Walk around tasting. Bright red start-to-finish, fun and friendly now.

Walk around tasting. Immediately downslope from Carelle. Charming red fruit with spice, classically Volnay even with its inherent ripeness. Stays lively and lithe, possibly light for the vintage, but good+ length.

Walk around tasting. On the Meursault border, near Santenots. 80 yo vines, just 20 hl/ha. 25% new oak. Floral with subtle spice, good brightness (especially for 2018) and charmingly accessible now (especially for 2018!). Sneaky good concentration coming through on finish, despite less weight in the middle. Good in another year or two.

Only Benoit's 2nd vintage. Kudos.
Walk around tasting. Benoit's 2nd vintage. Cold maceration. All destemmed. From vines near Vosne, seems nicely Vosne-like. Pretty, charming and easy for now.

Walk around tasting. From 5 lieux-dits across the Village, mostly Colombiere and Ravioles (next to NSG). More red vs black cherry, bright throughout with subtle spice, all in an elegant fashion. So elegant, nicely ready right young, 88-89 points.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Also seemingly very Vosne spiced. Big red fruit, well balanced, possibly not quite 1er Cru density, but clearly charming for the medium-term. 90-91 point potential, from as soon as 2024.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Again very Vosne fruited and spiced, but this really shows it 1er Cru heft. Slightly firm, nicely bright, with good volume. Slightly more balanced and accessible today vs when tasted the other, 90-92 point potential, 2026 forward.

Walk around tasting. In barrel. Ripe black and red cherry with some meat and liqueur notes. Fun with very good depth. So tasty now, I'd err on enjoying this younger than long-term cellaring giving some warmth on the finish. 89-90 points, 2024-2030.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Still in barrel. So much brighter than Trilogie, while still big. More red than black berries here, this is very elegantly flavored and textured, with a long and bright finish. 91-93 point potential, from 2028.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Less bright vs Baudes, just about the same power, and just a little backward. This will need more time, better 2030 forward, 91-92 point potential.

Walk around tasting. 3g dosage. 2017 base with 2016. From Mesnil, Oger. Bright yellow and green apple, certainly fun now, less complex on finish.

Walk around tasting. 2006-2017. From just Mesnil. Bright and layered with good depth. Best to enjoy now.

Walk around tasting. Rich and intense with lemon confit and lemon curd with shortbread cookies. Less classically typical to start, but very bright from middle-to-finish. Very good length. Cellar until at least 2026, 92-94 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Luxurious and balanced with apple, pear, quince, and almonds in good combination with very good length. Good now, better in another year or two. I have had such poor success with Darviot-Perrin 2017s before, finding them so reductive to start, and barely budging from there, but this is my first time tasting Genevrières.

2020 Francois Confuron-Gindre Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots 91 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Walk around tasting. In barrel. Same red fruited profile with five spice support, but much more structure throughout, so less harmony for now. Rugged finish for now indicates this needs time, with 90-93 point potential, based on the degree of balance it achieves, 2028 forward. A fairly new vineyard for Confuron-Gindre (2nd or 3rd vintage).

2020 Francois Confuron-Gindre Echezeaux 93 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Walk around tasting. In barrel. Big, rich, and spiced, but well balanced for medium-term pleasure. Slightly lacking energy, but the density almost compensates. 20% whole cluster, 40% new oak. From two parcels in Treux and Les Rouges de Bas. I liked this more today vs the other day, when it seemed warmer and less bright. Drink from 2026.
