A nice and solid qpr BDM, the 17 worked better than the 16 for pop and pour (16 Normale needed 2hrs and was best on Day 2). The 17 is accessible and evolves in complexity over a short time, a very nice ready to go everyday bdm.

Pale ruby in colour. Medium plus intensity on the nose. Quite a bit of herbal notes, sage, cloves, dry orange peel, leather, fresh red roses, truffle, sarsi, red date. Very pretty on the nose. On the palate, the acidity is high with high tannins of fine grain texture. Medium plus alcohol, medium plus body. The acidity and flavours are quite expressive, herbs, spices and leather, but the flavors are not yet fully developed. Well balanced and elegant as a BDM, certainly traditional style. A little dry around the mouth but pleasant to me. Love it!

This is wonderful, tradtitional Brunello di Monalcino. Aromatic from the first pour, cherries, leather and sundried herbs rising from the glass. On the palate more herbs, roses, leather, cherries, bitter almond and minerality. There is good freshness and nicely melted tannins, the only sign of a warm vintage because there is otherwise no sense of an extremely dry and warm year. Complimenti!
I think this drinks so well that the 2022-2027 drinking window added by one user seems reasonable, although I'm sure that it is not like this wine dies beyond that...

Leather, tarragon, pink roses and bing cherry on the nose. Tight tannins with bright red fruit on the palette.
Very enjoyable. Definitely needs a 2-3 hour slow ox to shine.
