  • Medium-deep garnet in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe red fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & raspberries with overtones of spice notes of nutmeg & cloves, floral notes, herbs, dusty & minerals in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of sweet cherries, strawberries & pomegranate, spices, herbs & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present although it should develop further with additional aging. An interesting & enjoyable wine & a pleasant change up from other varietals.

  • Margerum is in my opinion one of the finest Cinsaults produced in California. Organically farmed. Deep purple robe. Medium body. Pure, rousing red and black fruit and flower (lilies) aromas. Lush palate with a velvety texture that is at once sweet, savory and dry. Brambly blackberries that taste as if they were just picked, followed by raspberries, strawberries, plums, cedar, white pepper, and a trace of vanilla bean. Smooth, balanced and elegant. Enjoyed with roasted root vegetable ragout, strozzapreti pasta, parmesan, fig and arugula salad. 14% abv (not noticeable). D/H.
