I consumed this over the course of a week or so, and it blossomed and developed nicely over time. Deep ruby in the glass and still very youthful on first impressions. The nose was well defined and very attractive as is often the case with Warre's, with lots of stewed fig, dark plum, spice, blackberry and raisin with a hint of high quality, dark chocolate. On the palate this came across as concentrated but elegant with a real sense of freshness. There is a lot of fruit here but not a huge amount of complexity and I suspect that may not emerge over time. This feels like it's just beginning to enter its drinking window and will drink well for at least another 10-15+ years. This is a very good, stylish Quinta da Cavadinha but not a blockbuster.

Dense, fully opaque black cherry color. Dense, concentrated and slightly restrained nose with some obvious alcohol heat and sweet aromas of boysenberry jam, some wizened dark plums, a little bit of raisiny fruit, light licorice notes, a hint of bilberry and a touch of peppery spice. The nose doesn't feel big, but instead rather brooding with understated richness. The wine is full-bodied, silky and somewhat hot on the palate with juicy flavors of boysenberry jam, some peppery spice, a little bit of bilberry, light raisiny tones and a hint of plum liqueur. The overall feel is quite balanced with the medium acidity and firm, moderately grippy tannins. The finish is sweet, quite warm and rather grippy with rich flavors of raisins, boysenberry jam, some bilberries, a little bit of peppery spice, a hint of peppery spice and a lifted touch of perfumed floral character.
A nice, juicy and still rather young Single-Quinta Port. It really doesn't feel like a powerhouse that is meant for the long haul, but the wine still is some ways away from its apogee even at 15 years of age, so there is definitely no need to hurry either. Perhaps hitting its peak in or around 10 years from here. Nothing super-exciting, but definitely a delicious and well-made VP that has some upside to it. Priced according to its quality at 39,98€.

Loaded with spicy rich dark fruit, prunes and raisins. Subtle chocolate and smoke too. This will be great with some more bottle age, but a good example now

3 years later, I think this has developed nicely. I enjoyed it. I felt the palate had developed sufficient interest to match the sweetness.

Rather sweet and fruity. Easy to drink but lacking excitement. Probably needs keeping a while longer.
