3 hour slo-o. Lovely transparent red hue with a robust Piedmontese nose. On the palate the tannins are soft on a beautifully balanced palate. The wine just keeps evolving in the glass and finishes with great length. Should drink well for another decade.

Initially, nice aromatics of pure red fruits to go with dried rose petals, balsam and hints of iron. With a few hours of air showed more decaying forest floor notes. Lean in the mouth and elegant, though this is bordering on dilute. Somewhat drying tannins on the finish. Enjoyable though fairly straightforward for a Ca d'Morissio.

Drank this alongside the 1997 of the same wine. Both were gorgeous expressions of Nebbiolo. Pure and elegant with vibrant fruit.
Most 1997 Barolo & Barbaresco are in serious decline as it turned out not to be the vintage it was once thought to be. The '97 Ca d'Morissio Riserva is an exception as I have had 4 bottles over the past 18 months and 3 were glorious, the 4th good. I would drink these wines over the next year or two as it is anyone's guess as to how long they will lost.

Popped and poured. Classic Monprivato nose of wild strawberry, tobacco, and earth. Lots of tannins and acidity on the nose as well. Long, firmly tannic finish. Alcohol becomes more prominent over time. It will be interesting to see if the fruit outlasts the structure - my guess is yes, but the jury's still out.

Great drink now. A little simple, but great typicity, with goudron and sour cherry on the nose. A dead ringer for monprivato...
