I'm happy to revisit this cuvée which I buy regularly. I discover the 2021 vintage today and I must say loud and clear that it's really good. As usual. This is a blend of 50% young Syrah, 30% old Grenache and 20% old Carignan. The aging lasted 8 months and was carried out in vats, on fine lees. This bottle was popped and poured. The nose, of medium intensity, displays a rather incredible aromatic complexity for this level of range: blackberries, wild strawberries and raspberries, also herbs, southern scrubland, a pinch of tapenade and a slight trace of mint. The palate has a nice medium-bodied structure, some ripe and supple tannins and lots of juicy fruits (blackberries and plums). Here again we find a pronounced herbaceous profile and an elegant touch of violet. It's probably more monolithic than on the nose, but it's far too easy to drink! The underlying power drives to a long and so fresh finish. “Les Sorcières“ is a safe bet to buy with each new vintage! [Photo on Instagram]
