2nd bottle in past two years. I don’t feel it. Consistent appreciation for both bottles. Not enough fruit concentration, medium bodied, average finish and length. NI3, FI:20, FC:7, B:3, L:3

Black fruit and currants on the nose. Chocolate, vanilla, low acidity which lowers the complexity but adds to the smooth taste. There's a medium finish with low acidity. I must say previous vintages[e.g.,2016] were much more complex with greater depth. Is this a disappointment? No! Just different once you set your expectations. Is this still a Julien Fayard wine? Not sure...

I only got a small glass (was drinking another wine), but enjoyed it. Decanted 45 minutes, enjoyed with grilled filets and Fleming’s style mac and cheese Lots of Oak that was a bit too much in front for me. Paid $38, not a bad price but won’t rush out to buy more.
Pnp. Dark purple and fragrant. Black fruits, plum, chocolate. Medium/full bodied, smooth and balanced with silky tannins. Not as complex as previous (2016 and earlier) Juliet's I've had.

Had a solid evening with friends drinking California cabs and eating prime steaks. This was the third of three bottles (the others were a 2014 Silverado and a 2019 Stag's Leap), which were consumed in order from what we anticipated to be softest to boldest. We were correct in our sequence. All of the evening's participants enjoyed this one, and all but one rated it as their favorite (the outlier rated the Silverado highest).
The wine had a black-purple color and was decanted approximately 90 minutes before pouring. Personal preference - I would have liked to decant 2-3 hours for additional evolution. The nose was beautiful, with juicy ripe blackberries, dark candied cherries and blackberry jam. These qualities carried over to the taste profile, and were accompanied by powerful tannins and a long finish. Definitely a full bodied wine that paired extremely well with prime steaks.
