New Zealand Trip; 2/10/2024-2/24/2024: Dark ruby. Very herbal nose, some overripe fruit. Heavy, syrupy black cherry and a surprising amount of earth. Very good acidity and citrus peel, harsh tannins. Oof, this is the most Californian Pinot Noir we’ve had in New Zealand. Gloppy with little varietal character and that cola flavor that I despise in New World Pinot.
