  • Ripe berry and cherry aromas and flavours. Creamy rich, with some underlying chew. Plenty of material here upon which to age further.

  • Highly perfumed - Ries petals , followed by raspberry , then purple fruit , and ultimately forest floor . Light on the palate with a bracing vein of acidity on the finish . Hold for 6-10 years at which point this should be a winner !

  • An incredible experience with one of the most brilliant, engaging, compelling and possibly ‘interesting man in the world’ - Neil deGrasse Tyson’. Could not recommend attending engaging enough.

Started off the evening at my favorite restaurant with a 2007 Cristal, 2017 Meursault, 2016 Oddero Barolo and this insanely compelling Forey Morey-Saint-Denis (might be a new favorite- I need to dive deep into this producer)

My new favorite village wine- can’t imagine what the 1er and Grand Crus are like. This displays layered aromas and flavors of red and black raspberries, blueberries, slight meaty, mineral undertones and wonderful mouthfeel with a beautiful finish. Round and balanced, While incredibly deep, complex and approachable now, there is only the additive benefit of near to mid term cellaring (medium acidity) to this beautiful unique expression.

Forey’s Morey-Saint-Denis consists of two tiny holdings of vines between 30 and 50 years of age (one in Clos Solon and one in Les Crais.). The wine is fermented with 50% whole clusters and aged in (20%) 500-liter barrels. Practicing organic farming. No added SO2.

This small but outstanding domaine was created in 1840 by the great-grandfather of Régis Forey, the current proprietaire. Régis became fully responsible for all aspects of production and winemaking with the 1989 vintage. In contrast to the wines of his father, who produced seductive wines of finesse and delicacy, Régis expresses a more masculine personality as his wines show exceptional concentration and depth. The primary family holdings are in Nuits Saint Georges, Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Echezeaux. With the recent additions, the domaine extends its reach into the villages of Vougeot and Morey Saint Denis.

Regis Forey makes a range of traditional, old school Pinot Noir in the heart of Vosne-Romanée. His domaine is 10 hectares and includes holdings from Nuits-St-Georges to Morey-St-Denis, and include some top 1er crus in Vosne.

  • There's 50% whole bunch here. It has a pretty and elegant nose of rose petals and red and blue fruits. It has a sweet and intense heart with excellent acid drive. There's some meat and earth complexity and a finish that is very persistent. Lovely overall balance.
