Medium dark red. Blue fruit spectrum on nose. Very ripe blue fruit on nose. Good balance but structured with a balanced acidity and medium long finish. Elegance with ripeness. Not quite my favorite style. Prefer a more classically styled Burgundy. Too much hype with a price to match.

During the La Paulee in Meursault so only brief impressions. A big hype around this producer, I don't yes see from this bottle why. Discrete nose, some dark fruit, medium complexity.

Purple red. Floral nose, perfume. Red berries. High on acidity, marked tannins, this is a baby. Aromatic palate, flowers, small berries. Great purity of fruit. Feminine, elegant. Reminds a bit of Bizot. Great wine in the making, needs 3-5 years more at least and will last a lot longer I think. I’m sure prices will go nuts. In Beaune.

A private lunch with friends (Restaurant Le Soufflot, Meursault, France): Bottle No. 0277 from 894 bottles produced. Incredible precision. Power and freshness, flowers and cherries, incredible drive but not forced in any way, earthy Pommard depths, finely grained tannins, excellent persistence.

A private dinner (Restaurant d'Oude Schuur, Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium): Tasted blind. Very pure but not really refined, sweet fruit, intense, spicy, rich, hints of chocolate and red beet. I guess this shows that the context in which you taste a wine really matters.
