  • Deep ruby and purple in colour with a wide reddish, rainy rim and fat legs.

Black and blue fruit forward on the nose with a decent amount of oak influence. Blackberries, ripe plums, blueberries, green peppers, quince, vanilla, mocha, and leather.

Bold and intense on the palate with black and blue fruits and peppercorns, very indicative of a syrah. Blackberries, black plums, blue berries, some cassis, peppercorns, cloves, leather, wet earth, cocoa, and espresso on the palate. Tannins are very present and grippy, black-tea like, with a decent amount of acidity. Medium plus finish with a peppery note and a bit of heat towards the end.

This is quite a delicious syrah - powerful, fruit forward, and complex.

  • Tasted this wine at the Walkabout Tasting at Crystal Wines - Valley Point Chilean Extraordinaire.

Deep, inky, with a sweet and long finish. The wine dances around the palate effortlessly like a happy, spoilt little kid.

One of my favourite Shiraz from Chile, keep this one is for the years to come.

  • Pop & pour and this needs no decanting. Many say this is better than Purple Angel (which I have yet to try).

Deep purple color and muted aromas of dark berries, smoke and oak. Initial sips yielded mixed dark berries, vanilla and cigar box. This opened up with tertiary notes of pepper, leather and stewed plum. Lengthy finish.

Med+/full bodied, meaty tannins, dry but perky, and exciting.

This is a more complex wine that is very well crafted. I will certainly be sipping this again and exploring more Chilean wine

  • To be honest, I have no clue what some people had in their glasses when they were judging/describing this wine! But it was most certainly not this Folly 2019.

Tasted at the estate in Chile. It was without any daubt among the very best of the top wines of this marvellous estate.
The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, red currant, black currant (cassis), prune, raisin, plum, coffee, light toast, cedar and sandalwood. It tastes like blackberry, blueberry, red currant, black currant (cassis), raisin, plum, coffee and vanilla. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.
