  • Saturday night Laksa party at Wimborne. Drank in large Riedel stemless.
Coming after an elegant red fruited HL Charmes-Chambertin, this was such a contrast with lots of sunshine black fruits and rich youthful vigor.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purple colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of youthful purple and black fruits, boysenberries, dark red berries, tar and lead. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), puckery medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fresh tar earth and lead, black licorice, boysenberries, blackberries, dark red berries, chalkiness. Medium+ finish.
Good quality. For those that prefer their Pinot punchy and dark fruited.
