Have to say I agree with previous reviewers. Cherry, rose, (pony) saddle leather. Good structure, savory and floral aromatics, and a generous swath of red fruit/ripe tannic structure. I don’t want to say front-loaded, but plenty of “zazz” here. Perfect Tuesday pasta wine here while you’re lookin’ for that perfect Puglian red to go with the Four Seasons of Pasta lamb ragu. Good enough that a six bottle order from Chambers is in the cards. Yum!

Classic roses, red fruit, tarry core, finish is somewhat shortened but still nice with cottony tannin leading acidity. The full tour, just compressed and not elongated like I might expect from something above this price point. Enjoyed over 3 nights, can't say it evolved much though.

Elio Sandri Tasting (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Glass: Riedel Vinum Pinot Clear, medium ruby color. Fine, deep and floral-spicy nose. On the palate salty, deep, dense, forest berries, floral notes, complex, grip and texture. Long. Very good PQR. 90-91

The nose is supremely expressive with macerated cherries, tar, iron, rose petals and emerging mushroom. On the palate this is medium-bodied with generous, fleshy fruit and appropriate tannins that mostly show towards the finish, leaving plenty of room for enjoyment. The fruit is a bit on the ripe side and the 14% ABV is not completely hidden but at the end of the day I find this balanced enough with a pleasant, lingering finish. There is some lightness to it, it is certainly not heavy-handed at all. Getting nicer by the minute, showing very good promise. A great, highly drinkable style.

An hour of decant lets it blossom with red berries, dried flowers, balsamico, salmiak and solvent. Balanced acidity, medium tannins. Slight bitter ending, not very long or complex but enjoyable langhe, perfect to drink at its youth.
