Lay & Wheeler South Africa tasting (Glazier's Hall): Old vine concentration (91 years) - a touch reductive and more depth, seriousness compared to the Geronimo cuvee. Quite a structured palate with rich candied depth - some bubblegum notes, violets. I didn't fully get it - feels like it can't decide whether it wants to be delicious and carefree or big and serious.

What a lovely Cinsault beautiful delicate mouthfeel but with a nice rich cherry flavour. Breat balance resulting in a beautiful wine. Enjoyable now but will benefit from time in bottle.

No oak and de-stemmed aged in concrete. and 100 year old vineyard, and iron rich soils. The Italian concrete gives the wine just a bit more tension to it. And that is true. Maybe no SA funk to it.

This is great, plenty of dark cherries and plums, an undercurrent of tar and smoke, lovely acidity cutting through it all, clean and juicy.
