Nearly four years since I opened one, and this is ageing rather glacially. I enjoyed it on night #1, but enjoyed it even more on night 2 as the acids were more in balance with the fruits. Great sense of place and grape in a very elegant, really pure style. I'd love to revisit this in 5-6 years; the tertiary qualities should be rather lovely. recommended

Still very youthful, with oodles of spicy dark cherries and blackcurrant, again very St.Julien in character, so perhaps not the most typical expression of CF, but the breadth and creaminess really are impressive.

This bottle is spot on. Deep in color with just a hint of garden vegies that are surrounded by a lovely core of dark red fruits. It’s all in balance and just a lovely glass of wine. This showcases the most elegant side of Cabernet Franc that I’ve had. The only drawback is that it takes years to reach this point. One of the best bottles that I’ve had in a long time. Truly great tonight.

(Domaine de la Butte Bourgueil Mi-pente) Opaque red violet color; carbonic maceration, tart currant, tart red plum nose; tasty, tight, medium bodied, tart red currant, very tart red plum, olive palate with medium acidity, needs 2-plus years; medium-plus finish
(Domaine De La Butte Mi Pente) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-intense; one of the heaviest pomegranate noses ever on WLTV; surrounded by red radishes until your face falls off; like a farmers market; little bit of pickle juice; very complex & complete; a little dark chocolate; TASTE-this wine is bringing thunder; really dry; a more polished, sophisticated & seasoned version of the last wine ('05 Gasnier Chinon Vielles Vignes); more polished & elegant version; more refined & cleaner on the transition; really well made; Bordeaux lovers should like this wine; heavy English pea flavor profile; I like the dryness, complexity & weight of this wine; tremendous food wine; reminds me of a super wealthy 47 year old business man who also wants to play basketball in Harlem; can cellar for 5-10 years; DS-91/92; GV-91/92
