  • Expressive nose with fresh raspberry, strawberry and nectarine. Touch of struck match. Medium to full bodied. Fresh and textural. Drink now.

    WSET Notes:

    Pale pink-orange.

Pronounced on the nose with nectarine, raspberry, strawberry and struck match. Youthful.

Pronounced and dry on the palate. High acidity, high alcohol, medium plus body, low tannins, long finish.

Drink now. Not suitable for aging or further aging.

  • 100% Garnacha big sister to the standard Muga Rosado. The Flor is more serious and refined. Medium peach, strawberry and raspberry with a little bitter apple skin on finish. It’s softer and more rounded than the standard rosado with greater creaminess and texture from oak aging. Long and persistent finish.

  • This is a fine Tempranillo based Rose. Red berry aroma follows through on the palate. It is dry but not bone dry and the acidity is mellow. We really enjoyed it but it didn’t make the nineties because whilst it slipped down pleasurably enough it didn’t excite the senses. I agree with the previous comment that this wine would work with food and is not just a terrace aperitif pleaser. It is undoubtedly a good wine.

  • Tasted at Three Borders Wine Group, Hampshire, UK. In the glass this doesn't look like a rose, it's got a light bronze colour so looks more like a white. Nose shows cinnamon, spicy, nuttiness. It's quite full bodied, some oak showing, long. Very good overall, especially as I'm not a great rose fan.

  • High marks… the enclosure is a 50mm natural cork. This is Muga’s flagship Rosé. Pale orange/pink in colour. Med intensity nose. Floral, orange, lemon, pineapple, grapefruit, raspberry and latterly honey. On the palate, well, the body is medium (-). High acidity and an intensity that starts off high and then explodes into pronounced. Despite that, it’s balanced. There’s even some fine tannin. The finish is nuanced and long and crucially not acid driven. The caveat here is that this wine needs food. I don’t see it as a summer evening sundowner.
