Much preferred this younger vintage to the 2019 tasted a couple of weeks ago. Wonderful, full and complex aromas of white flowers, smoked honey, apricot and green apple. Textural palate with truly wild, mouthwatering and persistent acidity. Flavours add a soft stone minerality and tart citrus before a long, creamy butter filled finish.

Friday Night at Dave's Place: [Tasted Double Blind] This pours light gold in the glass. The nose is aromatic and complex showing significant secondary character of sheeps wool, petrol, green herbs, white pepper, red apple, and orange oil. The palate shows tangerine with bright medium plus focused acid without any RS and a long finish showing lovely tangerine notes. Placing this wine was a challenge, understandably with its very unusual blend. While a lovely and compelling profile it felt a little lacking in minerality.

Lay & Wheeler South Africa tasting (Glazier's Hall): Very rich, layered nose. Florals and blossom notes with clean and pure pear fruit, a hint of smoke. Delightful and delicious: a little shy on the palate right now. This really reminded me of a Falkenstein Kabi Trocken in a lot of ways- which is a great compliment!

Honeyed mirabelles, yellow plums, Forelle pears and grassy baby corn altogether rounded out by a buttery and saline finish. Medium length.
Unripe mangoes and waxy semolina flour make an appearance as it warms in the glass.
Complex, singular, and decent QPR.
