Complex bouquet with loads of red fruit and slightly more earth / barnyard / leather than usual. Rich, dense and concentrated flavor with sweet black and blue fruit and some interesting plum notes on the finish. Deep and dark in style but with a decent acidic backbone.
A little disjointed at the moment but the harmony improved with air. Hold.

Candy like sweetness upon first opening...like cherry jolly rancher or fruit roll up that to me covered up the quality of the fruit in the wine...86 points and frustrating because a previous Selyem bottle had similar sweetness that was masking a better wine. However, put the cork in it and in the fridge for 5 days...what a difference! The candy like sweetness was gone, and the true greatness I expect from Selyem was now on full display. Long finish with purity of fruit but nice savory dryness and integrated fine grain tannin....93 points! From now on, I will be decanting my Selyem wines for several hours before drinking.

Light ruby color with slow legs. Cedar, orange peel and cranberry on the nose. Raspberry, plum, cinnamon and cola on the palate. Long satin like finish.

Opened 1 hour prior but not decanted, slow ox in glass for a couple hours. Tart cherry, some cranberry notes along with some sweet pipe tobacco notes on a drying finish. Very smooth wine with no rough edges and can drink on its own or with light fare, cheese and maybe a nice Milanese dish to pair with. Ok now but should gain some more depth with 2-3 years in cellar.
