  • 2022 Port Harvest Tour; 9/22/2022-10/2/2022 (Porto, Portugal): Cask sample. This is a 142 Year Old Tawny Port. It is brown-orange in color with yellow and green on the edges. The viscousness of this Port in the glass is insanely thick and coats the inside of the glass with a brown-yellow sheen that holds for what seems like minutes. You can smell the age on this wine - old leather, antique furniture, and deep dark chocolate. The entry is a cacophony of complex flavors - lime, Werther's candy, torrefacted sugars, maple and molasses. This wine is strikingly smooth on the palate. It is deep and rich, but everything seems to have integrated here perfectly. This is a 142 year old glass of perfection. It is so approachable and pleasurable in the mouth with richness, great balance, and incredible acidity.

  • 2021 FTLOP Harvest Tour; 9/19/2021-10/2/2021 (Portgugal): Vinho Generoso #2. Mocha-brown in color with yellow on the edges. It is so thick and viscous that it leaves a yellow coating on the glass when swirled. Intense chocolate and dark mahogany varnish notes. Syrup-like body with crazy complexity of milk chocolate, toffee, espresso, vinagrinho (little vinegar), toasted nuts and burnt sugar. The finish goes on forever and the color remains in the glass. Wow. Just wow.
