Pale light straw in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of grapefruit, lemons/limes & melons with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle, minerals, wet stones & a hint of lemongrass. Light bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of lemons & limes, grapefruit and tart green apples, some lemongrass, stony & minerals. Lingering crisp finish. Drinks quite well at present & should develop further with another year of aging.

A very attractive Sauvignon Blanc with a generic citrus flavors typical of a New Zealand style SB and a smoother fuller bodied style found among the best of CA SBs. The result s a very enjoyable wine.

this was from the lodge when we checked in...it's what they serve when guests first arrive and it makes sense why they choose this one to make a splash...in general, Bernardus makes nice affordable wines if you don't pay their lodge prices and get it at the supermarket instead! the SB is probably their best of the bunch, but it's a tight cluster--a little bit more layered and elegant, but most of their wines somewhat fit this category in a way that makes you quite enjoy them
