  • From my non in-depth research it would seem this wine is a second label incantation from this right bank Bordeaux-Montagne Saint-Emilion biodynamic, natural, strictly organic and sustainable producer, made from 50% each of new vine Cabernet Franc, and new and old vine Merlot plantings.
The color is 1/3 translucent and 2/3 opaque black raspberry color, with brick orange at the wine’s rim.
The nose is balanced and gently evocative with aromas of blue and black fruit laced with vanilla, dried leaf tobacco, and all softly enveloped within an aromatic pencil box, and wet saddle-leather scented smokey bouquet (I sense no left bank Saint-Estephe relatable Brettanomyces although the chateau’s soil is clay based), without olfactory unbalance or angularity.
Delicious when immediately poured, the wine presents with a medium light mouthfeel viscosity, sans food, which is brilliant on the palate, with sweet blackberry and tart black raspberry fruit, along with appropriately complimentary acidity and silky fine-grained tannins, all extending through the first two palate stages, leaving the impression of dusty grape skins and memories of the blue-black fruit along with a thin sliver of orange peel on the generous finish.
This wine is supple, and understatedly voluptuous, and is showing beautifully in its apparent youth. Perfect now, and for perhaps 4-5 more years, but why wait. It is so pretty now.

  • Obvious spritz and on the lighter end of medium-bodied, albeit with some grippy tannins. Graphite is prominent, but also a little barnyard floor, pyrazine, and red fruit. Opened up a little after a few hours. Not what I was looking for, but it's a good wine and I enjoyed it.
