When you’re feeling low (Ravens lost…boo!) it’s time for smile juice, and that means WineCo Yeah! Irritated, frustrated, disappointed all rolled into one, and just a sip turned that frown upside down. The red fruit is Mars in strobe. It flashes and dashes, as the acidity puts a charge into the rails. This is a little more full-bodied than some of the Extradimensional wines, but it has the inner music that connects the soul to the mind. There’s a savory note on the finish that is hard to pin down, but isn’t that the way it should be. If it’s extradimensional it should be shifting, dodging and weaving to keep the mind engaged and the senses energized.

1.5 hr decant. A wild bouquet of cherry, wild strawberry, and a very strong floral element that is like a cross between violet and rose - something new to me. The wine has that whoosh but smooth lift to it and a soft prettiness on the palate (sour cherry, pine nut) that gets checked at the finish by an extravagantly complicated minerality (feldspar pebbles? I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s assertive and tells you the ride is over). What a joy to drink. Score : 94. Relative to expectations: +++

Still quite young, but I needed a bit of that Hardy and Kate joy plasma at the Thanksgiving table. Fine berry fruit—tart and lively with a dusty mineral core. Hints of petrichor on the periphery. Lively and lovely. This will shine when knit. Yum!

Wow, does this ever need time to breathe! Sharp and a little sour straight out of the bottle, quite tannic. Given 90 minutes to breathe, however, and it changes into a lush, complex red, more of a sour cherry mixed with slate, completely dry.

Pnp. Clearly needs more time. Lots of great components (dusky plum, chalky mineral, herbs, tannins), but a bit angular and unintegrated at the moment. The result is a touch dilute on the mid-palate. 91 with upside.
