2022 Port Harvest Tour; 9/22/2022-10/2/2022 (Porto, Portugal): From Cask 3. This is a 100 year old Tawny Port. The wine is dark brown-amber in color. There are crazy intense notes of cocoa powder, molasses, vinegrenio, and mahogany. There is an incredible, rich mouthfeel, and a surprisingly smooth flavor profile. On the palate are sweet notes of caramel, candied orange peel, molasses, lime, and beautifully balanced tannins and acidity. I can't believe how long and complex the finish is, with waves and waves of new flavors swirling around for what seems like minutes. Wow. 97 points.

2021 FTLOP Harvest Tour; 9/19/2021-10/2/2021 (Portgugal): Cask #1 Sample. Dark brown in color with yellow on the edges. Intense dark chocolate, espresso, and molasses on the nose. Rich, sweet flavor profile with nuts, chocolate, and dried fruits. An amazingly long finish. Not rated because I was listening to two opera singers who were performing in the barrel room.

2021 FTLOP Harvest Tour; 9/19/2021-10/2/2021 (Portgugal): Cask #3 Sample. Dark brown in color with yellow on the edges. Mahogany and expressive notes of espresso, chocolate and vinegrenio. The incredibly rich mouthfeel seems to pick up viscosity on the mid-palate and evolve into a complex mélange of rich, flavors and textures. I picked up rich toffee, torrefacted brown sugars, and some simply amazing intensity. Great balance of acidity and sweetness. Wow. This is an amazing cask sample. Like drinking honeyed molasses with a shot of espresso. This cask is the is the Muito Muito Velha (Very Very Old) Port with over 100 years of age. These are often used to blend into other wines.
