The wine is a rich, deep purple in the glass. The slow tears hint at the powerful 15% ABV. The aromas are of dark fruit — blueberries and plum — accompanied by warm spices. The wine sits rich and hot on the tongue, but is cooled as the tannins and alcohol blend with the rich and fatty meat of the lamb shank.
This wine is a racehorse prior to post time, its muscles taut under its sleek, well-groomed coat, like coiled springs quivering with energy waiting to be unleashed. The lamb shank is the track pony walking beside: calming, soothing and focusing the racehorse as it approaches the gate.

Balanced through out. Long finish, good fruit on front and mid pallet. Drank well with and without food.
