Ruby red with some bricking starting to appear at the rim. Very savoury nose; cedar and leather with a hint of cherry. Medium bodied; still has good acidity; dry, chalky tannins. Initially the palate shows well defined flavours; cedar, leather, oaky wood and a bit of spice. With time in the glass, classic strawberry and cream rioja characteristics start to appear. Good length in the mouth and in the finish. Very nice.

The Blind Drunks do Obscure Varietals with Jay McDonald (Matt & Jody's): Put into blind tasting. Garnet color, showing a bit of age toward the rim. Aromas of dirty red fruit, with meaty, funky, barnyardy overtones and a bit of leather. Flavors of dusty red fruit, currant and berries, with a nice finish.
