  • This wine was unbelievable tonight. Poured a strawberry red into the glass, still rather exciting both out of bottle and glass. Notes on the nose were cinnamon graham cracker, vanilla, and aged raspberry. The entry was soft, most of the acidity already gone. Graham cracker crust, cherry pie. Pie spice, aged notes also here. Glycerine on the front and middle, and that is where a cola note showed up. Gave way to a rather neutral and raspberry-aged finish. Drinking BEAUTIFULLY right now, and probably right at the height of the drinking window. I see it appreciating maybe another year, but this was a ridiculously fantastic representation of Barbaresco tonight that made this bottle disappear rather quickly! Drink 2014-2022.

  • Medium Red color. Nose of dried red berries, with a hint of earthiness. Palate was medium weight, a lot of dusty nuances. Tannins were certainly present in this very young wine, but dusty and not overwhelming. Quite tasty. Had with a italian sausage pasta.

  • Small Vineyards Tasting (Orso): I've had this a few times in past and still own quite a few, but this was tasted during a seminar. Textbook nose of dried flowers, tobacco, earth, and truffles with dried cherries. The palate is still firm with dusty tannins, fruit tannin, herbs, and ripe cranberry, dried cherry, floral note. Great acidity throughout with a medium + body, great balance. Will age beautifully 10 years +.

  • Bright nose with cedar, pencil lead and prunes. The acid is lively and food friendly, but decanted one hour to unlock to flavor. The tastes add rose petals and black cherries. It is a bit astringent on the finish.

  • For people who haven't found an Italian wine they enjoy, this was an enjoyable surprise. Light in color and weight, faint cherry and cedar on the nose. Cherry flavor, lightly tannic, dusty leather as noted by snaff, and a nice mouthfeel and approach.
