Wine was holding up very nicely. Nose a bit advanced with a hint of oxidation, but still full of white flowers, ripe quince and yellow apple. Palate still had nice drive, great energy and flavors to mirror the nose. Acids were upfront but not aggressive. A lovely bottle. Still has 5-8 more years ahead of it.

The mount eden chardonnay is a beautiful wine. With excellent acidity and a full body, this wine is one of my favorites. This is one of my last 2006's and it aged quite nicely. The wine shows green apple, pear, nectarine, some citrus, and fresh cream. The wine is neither buttery nor flabby like many california chards. The acidity gives this wine a nice backbone which carries through to the long finish. The wine is best enjoyed from 1 to 4 hours after opening and changes dramatically over that period. The wine was paired with sole muniere.

Very pleasant and inviting chardonnay nose: lemon zest, pineapple, smoky oak, light vanilla. Good concentration and density of fruit, not too fat body nor too much vanilla oak, nice acid freshness and a mineral/spicy finish. Cool and restrained profile for a Cali, almost burgundian. A perfect match with a lobster risotto. We'd be happy to drink this again and again.

Very nice acidty. Clean sweet fruit. While there is a bit of butter/oak, the primary experience is of strong acidity and clean fruit. If the fruit tasted a bit less sweet, I could really like this wine.

Misc CA tasting at Kenneth: Intense but viscous nose. A lot of oak, mango, pineapple and vanilla. The palate is creamy, has a lot of vanilla and a touch of butter on the aftertaste. Mixed tropical fruits coming through. Overall a little one-dimensional.
