I buy and try most of the Kirkland wines. Some are quite good (a handful of Baroli, for example) and some are marginal. This is between that, and I dare say if some of the low scores here had tasted this with a Saint Cosme label the scores would have been higher. I struggle with the same issue. But the wine itself is good and for $20, good lord. No CDR is going to beat it. Tastes as if principally Grenache. Bright red cherry and earth on the nose. I love that sweet French grenache smell and flavor. Smooth and yummy on the mouth. Cooked red cherries and damp earth and spice. The only flaw is the transition from mouth to finish where it drops off in some odd space but that may just be its young age. I have yet to run across a better QPR Gigondas. Give it a shot. Taste it blind and then write your note.

The first night, with its raspberry jam, red apple, leather, and lithe, almost elegant construction were it not for an average ending, I thought this was the best 8 dollar Barolo I've ever had in my life Did darken a bit on day 3; blackberry, orange, mint, mace, crayons, allspice, leather, and (thank you, interweb), boxwood Is this delectable, or merely well made? Research continues
Was hoping this would be a great value wine that delivered on the Kirkland brand name, but I was wrong. This wine is at best mediocre. It fails to show the terror of Gigondas nor is it well balanced.
