  • PnP. Clearly in its last few years, this made a terrific effort at the one hour mark, rallying the depth of its fruit, but ultimately it's fading. The love affair is nearly over. 13,6% abv, drink thru 2012.

  • Decanted 2 hrs, drank over 2 nights. Very dark ruby core with no sign of aging. The nose never quite gets going, but with some coaxing notes of dark berry, warm spice, earth and embers emerge. The palate is rather monolithic, with lots of creamy berries, flavors of vanilla and not much else. Medium finish, medium acidity. Drank the same on both nights. Fair amount of very fine sediment. One btl left that I'll drink in the next year or so. 13,6% abv, approx $28, drink thru 2011.

  • Took over to SC for South American evening decanted for about 4 hrs - excellent, even better the next day. there are some very nice aromatics of coco & slight gaminess on the rich dark fruit -full bodied & rich modern & lush but not over the top. This is classic big style Malbec at great QPR. I suspect that this has a long life ahead of it...
