  • [Imported by NBWI, Berkeley, CA.] Remoissenet, founded in 1877, is on fire. The company has been born anew since NY-based Edward and Howard Millstein purchased the business in 2005. The Millsteins installed former-Wine Advocate critic Pierre Rovani as President, Claudie Jobard as consulting enologist/winemaker, and Cyril Barbieri as Chef de Cave. Remoissenet owned just 2.5 hectares of vines back in 2005, but has increased its holdings to 20 hectares, "all over the map," according to Rovani.
    ________

    Color: Med-dark ruby.
Impressive color for Burgundy at this price point.

Nose: Intense, ripe, black griotte cherry and earth. Touch of licorice, sweet damp earth, and a kiss of new French oak. Classic modern Burgundian nose. Sweet. Clean. Beautiful!

Pal: Med-full body, excellent concentration. Noticeably ripe, sweet cherry juicy fruit. Ripe soft tannins. 14.5% alc. Exceptional beauty, balance, complexity, and concentration at the price.

Excellent 1er Cru red Burgundy in a good vintage at $50-60! Excellent value in Burgundy.

    Solid: 90-91-92
For sure, lay some down for 4-5 years if you have a proper cellar and the patience. But this dinks well now.
Will develop positively through 2032 (in a cool cellar).

  • Well balanced, soft ,not a lot of tannins. After 24 hrs, fruit is persistent, some acid and tannin, somewhat short on finish, but enjoyable.great with some goat cheese and raw cow milk cheese. Is it the best value for 105 cdn?
