Excellent wine. I would hold off for another 2-3 years, yet still very drinkable today. If you open today, decant for at least 2 hours. Fruit is very vibrant, and needs to chill out a bit. Cheers

Needs time but still very good. Certainly recommend with food. I found it to be balanced. Slow ox for 4 hours, drank over another 4.
Mineral, graphite, slate, forest floor, and black fruit on the nose. After dinner the tannins really started to take hold, but still enjoyable. I know this was a tough vintage and not as good as the Rocket Block, but still a very good wine.
Will open another next year and see how it has developed. I am worried about smoke coming through as these get older.

Double decanted and left in bottle under cork for 24 hours. Still a little hot (15.8 showing) after that, but only a little. At least that’s what I thought - my wife objected more. Great flavor - really tasty. Curious to see if it will naturally shed some of the heat or that’s going to be a permanent feature of this vintage.

Nose is opulent with lots of ripe blackberry and cherry. Leather, and black pepper accents. The alcohol is definitely up there, but there is enough depth and complexity to make it worth the heat. Body is predictably full, balanced acidity and fine grained tannins that start to be noticeable after the second glass.
Looking forward to revisiting in a few years.

Definitely not ready to go...very tight, grippy tannin and dark fruit. Very long finish. Give it a bit more time.
