  Cassis, blueberry pie and baking spice. Recioto-level sweet palate, earthier than expected. Firm tannic structure and good acidity - surprisingly light-footed - and a very long, long finish dominated by berries and earth although also a touch astringent. Very stony and really quite mineral.
  
  The wine is intentionally sweet, and due to its complexity, acidity and structure, is quite successful. Very far from jammy, cloying grocery store Zin. One should not be surprised by its sweetness, given it is clearly labeled. A nice alternative to a Recioto or a Banyuls, similar in sweetness but far more lithe. The QPR is decent to good when comparing it to bottles of similar quaility of the former.

  Quite sweet...honestly this drinks more like a mid shelf grocery store Zin than something from Ridge. So not a great QPR.
