I’ve never had this wine or grape varietal before. Somewhere between Chenin and Chardonnay. Quite waxy, full, flavoursome with yellow fruits and a bit of herb. Perhaps Soave is the closest comparison I can think of. A bit heavy on the finish for me but interesting wine certainly.

My first experience with this wine was with the 2010 vintage a few months ago. In comparison, this 2020 is far drier and more lactic. It took a few days for the yogurt smell to fade, but it’s still present. I wish this were made with a bit more malic acid to pair better with food; it feels a little heavy at the moment. Honestly not unlike a ripe Chardonnay.
This will undoubtably improve in a few years, but is anyone actively aging this stuff? Who knows.
