  • Entering maturity now, this is really special. Needed about two good hours of air to smooth out. Deep and pure fruit material slices through florals, sweet pipe tobacco, and wood notes to make a very seductive palate. Brilliant, dark ruby color with heavy sediment. Nose is entrancing, if a little shy. Plenty of grip in the background of plush tannins. I wish Trey Busch still produced this wine. 5+12+18+8=93

  • I was not very fond of this wine at first, but after about 3 hours in the glass it really started to open up nicely. Merlot is predominant with round fruit and nice soft tannins and balanced acidity. I really liked my last couple of tastes. I think we drank it too cold coming right out of the cellar, although we did decant for about an hour. Try again in 2010.
