Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 94 points

  • Notes after slow-oxing for 14 hours. Very dark maroon color at the core, fading to tawny garnet. Very slow, lightly tinted legs and light sediment. Profound aroma of dried roses and lavender, berry pie, macadamia, vanilla, white chocolate, Indian spice, Testers' model paint (which I love. Takes me back to 1970). Delicious dark berry and plum, jasmine and saffron, leather and velvet over a firm and yet silky body, tiny bit of heat, gentle acidity with tannins that still insist on a speaking part, but they deserve every line. The palate exudes the bouquet, not just supports it. Finish endures for well over a minute in my head after each sip. Uh yeah, I like it. I'm betting it still has more to give with time. Might be Trey Busch's best ever, in my humble opinion 4+14+18+9 = 95

  • Rich ruby color, 90% opaque and beautifully clear body. Opened about 2 hrs prior to tasting. Brush and chapparal top the aroma with deep plum and currant underneath. Some mint and floral apsects creep in there, too. Big body with great acidity and strong fruit endurance on the palate with a superb mixture of Bordeaux-like flavor and complexity. Top notch stuff and one of my favorite wines this year. 5+12+18+8 = 93

  • Rich blackberry preserves, mint, licorice, lavender with big body, velvety smooth tannins and drinking nice after 3-4 hours open. Gut impression, 92-93pt
