Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 90 points

  • Transparent yellow color. Very pleasant baked goods aromas: vanilla, lemon bar. Medium-light body, medium-plus acid. Initally a bit thin on the palate with tart lemon and some flinty undertones. With air this picked up rich apples and a nice saltiness on the finish. Very good at this price point.

  • Lovely, soft, smooth, and gentle. Easy to drink; but this is not an "easy-drinker". Pay attention to what's underneath and you'll be rewarded. So overtly smooth and delicious, that I honestly missed a lot of the subtlety myself. My guess is that this would benefit from a few years.

  • Elegant, mineral driven. Granny Smith apple and lime flavors, bracing acidity. Good stuff.

  • Medium gold in the glass with aromas of orange creamsicle, unripe banana and green apple. Decent weight on the palate with firm acidity and lots of verve. The palate shows a pronounced saline note with tart apple and citrus peel supporting on the medium-long finish. Very well made and a nice expression of Mendocino Chardonnay.

  • Popped and followed over several days. 13% abv, barrel fermented neutral French oak sur lie, 50% whole cluster, partial malo, racked at bottling.

Pale straw color tinged a touch green. Faint nose varying from saline sea breeze to vanilla bean, white flowers and dried grass. There's a steelie tension to this wine, stems? Very delicate/light touch, mid-palate is hidden at cellar temps but with a rise in temperature lemon curd and oyster shell minerality, turns creamy on the texture. The acidity comes to the forefront followed with a mineral blast, lemon-lime, green apple skin and that tension. The finish is long and lip-pursingly tart. I found it to be most expressive at or near room temperature and on day two. Would pair great with shellfish or creamy pasta. A different cat than the Linda Vista but equally enjoyable.
