Garnet colored in the glass all the way through. Any ruby notes it's had are long gone. Definitely meaty, earthy, leathery, smokey with maybe some very bitter herbal and blackberry notes to it. But it seems like this bottle has lost most of its bright vibrant fruit, if it ever had any to begin with. Some real acidic backbone for sure. Notes of vanilla and old library book on the nose. Finishes with a sour-currant taste that isn't unpleasant, but certainly isn't expected. If I had to guess, I'd say the wine is a couple of years past the prime that the wine-maker imagined. Not that it's a bad wine. It's just that we're in a bit of uncharted territory at this point. Seems like it was meant to be drunk very young, and with a few years of age it seems like it just isn't all it used to have been / could have been. Will wait until trying the next bottle before passing final judgment on the whole lot.

Solid QPR pinot noir. Not memorable but an enjoyable bottle for drinking alone or to accompany a meal. Nice red fruit flavors (strawberry and raspberry) and a touch of smoke on the finish.

Light ruby in color. Strong aromas of campfire smoke, vanilla and caramel. After about an hour strawberries and raspberries. On the palate, same fruit, and spice. Medium high acid, medium tannin and lighter body. An overall nice wine.

Very nice QPR pinot. Distinctive due to smokiness on the nose.

Pinot Night at Godai (Godai Sushi, San Antonio, TX): Very suprising wine! Lighter in color, but wonderful taste. Big fruit flavors and nice finish. 88-90.
