Delightful berry nose, and a balanced mix of savory fruits that dance, but doesn't linger, across the palate. Dry finish. Mature but in no way tired. This wine has reached a nice place in life. A little more depth and a longer finish is all it lacks.

Final blend done 1/13/03. Tasted at Chateau de Campuget 65% Syrah/35% Grenache Dark purple color; aromas are very fruit driven. Unmistakeably Grenache - strawberry and raspberry notes. smells like a freshly baked strawberry tart. Soft purple fruit on the palate - plums, grapes, currant, blueberry - up front; fleshy, lush texture; very high acidity with a long finish. Very good, and the best vintage I've had of this wine.

Vertical party. Wan pink color. Woody nose like sweet tea. Very flat and water with a tiny hint of tartness. No fruit or tannin to speak of.
