I've struggled with this winery and I have never enjoyed a bottle of Resonance over the last seven years. On night one this bottle was disjointed, tight, and with an odd effervescent texture. I decided to revisit on night three and it actually showed very well with considerable improvement. Bright, easily defined red fruit flavors of cranberry and cherry, were intermixed with light cedar spice (35% new french oak for 15 months). The effervescent texture has integrated into the body and the wines texture and tannin profile is on the silkier side.

Cork popped like a sparkling wine, when I pulled it. Likewise, it had a noticeable effervescence at first, which settled down but still indication the wine has issues. Also, was initially on the fruity…nearly sweet side, which likewise blew off. Altogether, it was a disappointing experience and so, I’d say this wine is a pass. Particularly since the other bottles we had, weren’t anything special. Not sure how it’s possible that this wine was amongst the top 10 Wine Spectator wines of the year.

Focused, showing strawberry, raspberry, bacon and spice. Medium bodied and bright acidity. Well done pinot noir with a sense of place. NI:4, FI:22, FC:8, B:3, L:4

Light, earthy with a captivating bitter hook. Ok with food.
