The Blend was changed from 4 different grapes (Sémillon (40 %), Chenin Blanc (30 %), Muscadelle (20 %) and Colombard (10 %) to 3 flavours of Semillon, Chardonnay and Riesling. To be honest, I think the old Blend was more harmoniously.

10th MW Symposium, Wiesbaden - Day 4: Alcohol 13.5%, dry 1.5 g/l residual sugar, 5.7 g/l acidity, 3.1 pH Vineyard: Byrne Vineyards - Scotts Creek The vineyard has abundant sunshine and a climate that suits the vines perfectly. The soils are as ancient as they are ideal for vines, some of them planted back in 1970 in this blend, so we have learned to nurture the very best. Water is provided mostly from the Murray River and the land receives only a sprinkle of rainfall. The climate is largely temperate. 30+yo vines. Yield: 18 hl/ha Soil Type: Limestone and sandy loam.
Vinification: Co-fermented from intuitively selected grapes grown in the estate on low yielding, older vines of Riesling, Chardonnay and Semillon. The contrast of co-fermenting rather than post blending allows the fruits flavours to develop in synergy and, by not needing to add any acid, results in a naturally harmonious wine. Maturation: Stainless steel tank. Oak influence: Limited oak in production. Months in bottle: 6

Round, smooth, juicy, pear, green apple, palate is smooth, easy, fresh herbal notes, ripe tropical notes, kiwi, peach, med body, long finish with Riesling prevailing, a touch hot
