New Zealand Trip; 2/10/2024-2/24/2024: Pale red. Fragrant green tones and violets. Medium to lighter weight. Discretely ripe entry followed by soil and earthy tannins. Some bitterness and dark chocolate on the finish. An odd duck. In its favor, both aromatic and flavor complexity, but this seemed so unlike Syrah in color and its anemic palate presence. My friends were much more positive about it.
