  • wow this was really nice... deeply colored, purplish rim. on the nose a lot of dark fruits and a lot of savory woodsy notes. no new oak. on the palate moderate to high acids, moderately weighted midpalate, minimal tannins that are of moderate ripeness, low alcohol. balanced wine with good length, great intensity and complexity... wine has finesse, a flawless texture, good expression of place. impressive wine for its interesting aroma profile and flawless texture and transition on the palate. probably not a long ager but might be fun to follow a few years.

  • Agree with other notes around the range of fruit and touch of funk, and definitely a bit of expanded complexity from the blend. Going to let the 2nd bottle sit for a year or two and see if some of the rough edges come off, but even if it stays the same, good value and tasty with a heavy cheese and charcuterie plate.

  • Really fabulous for the price and circumstances. Improved with a short, 30m decant. I get lots of red fruit with undercurrents of pine bough, sage, and mushroom. Structurally it feels elegant right now. I'd guess it's beginning a short-medium term drinking window. A great buy at $25.

  • This is perfectly enjoyable; floral and red fruited with a hint of funk and herbs as well as a touch of smoke from the meunier; good balance; while not my favorite Eyrie, its a good effort from a tough vintage

  • The blend adds a smoky, spicy, peppery exoticness to the glass, but it's undercut somewhat by a lack of structure. Approachable and food friendly. I'd love to try a higher end version of this experiment.
