All delicious fruit. But unfortunately not enough tannic structure to support. This wine needs a few years for the fruit to fade some and to hopefully allow it to gain better balance

This is what one might call a “chewy” Cab. Tannins integrated. The mouth is awashed with flavor, almost overpowering. There is nothing subtle about this wine.

Decanted 1 hour. Couple more were most likely needed. I did like this—and some potential here, but not something that gives you the <pause> when it’s just you and the wine. Will let my other bottles do some cellaring. My hopes were high, because of To Kalon and the wine’s name. Hot damn, do I remember roadtripping with a pack (or two) of smokes, a six pack (or two) of cheap beer, a bottle (yep, or two) of Boone’s (I’ve come a long way, baby), Zeppelin on the radio and nothing but a gorgeous summer evening full of youthful stupidity and sweet possibility. Sigh.

Good not great. A bit on the over ripe side and a bit bitter on the finish. Seemed like it might benefit from more time in bottle but not a repeat buy at ~$80-100. I know you pay for the fact that it comes from To Kalon, but there is just so much good wine out there this bottle didn't offer good QPR.

One hour double decant. Candied fig cookie, overripe plum, classic fruit cake, chocolate, and subtle pine cone. Dry, medium bodied (but noticeable) palate, with good acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.
This is youthful, but better than I expected. I know everyone will be disappointed that I didn’t remember to note the color. ;)
