  • Beautiful rich blue & purple fruit with a sly balance of higher tones such as orange peel and peony flower. Succulent and opulent but with a beautiful Burgundian restraint.
Great today, will be great in 10 years.

  • PnP. Lots of black cherry, dark raspberry, pie spice, a touch of cinnamon. Really rich, deep flavors. Some drying tannins in the finish. Medium body, medium acidity. This seems years from maturity and is a stark contrast to the WV cuvee which is more open at this point (which you'd expect). I think this wine will be best 7-10 years from the vintage and expect it will last much longer (15 years if well stored). Traditionally this is a blend of fruit from La Colina and Four Winds, and it does have the structure of the Four Winds with the fruit intensity of La Colina. Really impressive but while it's drinking well now, I think it'd best best to wait several years on this one. Score will likely go up as it ages and integrates.
