Light golden, medium bodied Medium peat, grassy hints, salty sea air, bananas Fairly strong upfront peat that fades into notes that follow the nose Medium finish, long belly burn. Packs a bit of a bite.
Not the smoothest bottle. The kind of bottle drunk among hunting buddies out in the middle of nowhere huddled around a campfire on a cold, damp night.

Medicinal, plastics and grain nose. Warm and spiced palate with a good finish. October 2006
Malts and spices with subtle floral peat and a complex barrel note that suggests a wine cask element. Nicely weighted, stylish, flavourful finish. Exceeded my expectations. 2018

5cl sample. With Elmar and Darryl. The whisky showed grain, malt and a hint of mint/After Eight on the nose and palate, complemented by a hint of underlying fruit flavours, some sweetness and maritime saltiness. This inoffensive whisky had moderate complexity and finished quickly. It did not hurt us, but it also did not spark the slightest bit of excitement.
Quite a dry mouthfeel. The oak wood takes the lead in the taste, the thick molasses and vanilla elements come through from the aroma, along with a touch of fruit in the finish.

A light Amber colour.
An aroma of molasses, vanilla and oak wood.
