  • Colour: light lemon
    Nose: medium(-) intensity, secondary, youthful. Apricot and peach (esp when first opened), stewed apricot. Lemon peel. Beeswax. Biscuit, nougat, almonds. White flowers.
    Palate: dry, medium(-) acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium bodied. Medium intensity, medium length finish. Apricot and peach (esp when first opened), stewed apricot. Lemon, lemon peel. Beeswax. Biscuit, nougat, almonds. White flowers. Saline, wet stones. Some savouriness as well as fruitiness. Well rounded. Quite textural.
    Conclusions: very good. Can drink now, but suited to short-term ageing. P&P (pop&pour), not decanted.

  • I did enjoy an earlier vintage of this wine in magnum courtesy of Mavens a few years back. What is not to like about this - provided you like the Rhone style - somewhat lean and earthy - for less than $10. I would probably buy at closer to $20.
